Indexing

1. URL verification

Google provides us with a range of tools. The simplest and fastest URL checking tool (in the new Google Search Console). This tool allows you to send a URL and tell Google to scan it by placing it in a priority crawl queue.

2. Sitemap

Another common method is using a Sitemap. If you don’t use a Sitemap, this is one of the easiest and fastest ways to index your URLs. Using a Sitemap, you tell Google which pages to index. There are a number of different techniques that can slightly optimize this process.

The first and most basic one everyone talks about is just to put it in a robots.txt file.

You can also add a sitemap using the Search Console Sitemap Report. Or through the API Search Console.

But the really cool way to inform Google about a Sitemap that many people don’t use is to just ping Google. You can do this in your browser URL. Just enter google.com/ping and add a Sitemap with a URL. Enter it in your browser and Google will instantly place a Sitemap in the queue for crawling, and all URLs should be indexed quickly if they meet Google’s quality standard.

3. Indexing via Google API

In the past few months, both Google and Bing have introduced new APIs to help speed up and automate URL scanning and indexing.

Both of these solutions significantly speed up indexing by sending 100 or 1000 URLs through the API.

Although the Bing API is for any new / updated URL, Google claims that its API is specifically designed for “posting vacancies or structured data in real-time.”

If you want to use these indexing APIs yourself, you have several options:

  1. There is a great post about using affordable SEO services tools for Excel with Google APIs
  2. Google documentation for indexing APIs

Yoast announced that soon will support live indexing in Google and Bing within your plugin SEO WordPress.

Indexing and ranking

Now there are other ways by which you can index your content faster and at the same time improve its position.

4. Links from important pages

When you publish new content, make sure that you link to important pages. Important pages can be your home page, your blog, your resources page. The https://smallseotools.com/backlink-checker/ is developed to give you access to the backlink profile of any site on the web

Having links tells Google about two things.

1. You need to scan this link sometime in the future, and it is placed in the normal scan queue.

2. This makes the link more important. Google can say:

“Well, we have important pages that link to this content. This gives us several quality signals that will help determine how to rank it. ”

So refer to the important pages.

5. Update old content

The step that people often forget is to go back to old articles on your site and add links to new content.

One of my favorite tricks on Google is to use a search operator (site: example.com) where you enter the keywords that your content says. This allows you to find relevant pages on your site about targeted keywords. On these pages, it is worth adding links to new content.

6. Share on social networks

The obvious step – repost in social networks. When you publish new content on social networks, there is a high correlation between repost and content rating. But especially when you share content aggregators like Reddit, Hacker News, they create real links for Google to crawl. Google will see these signals and it will have the same effect as adding links from your own content, except that it is even a little better because these are external links.

7. Generate traffic to URL

This is a kind of advanced technology that is a bit controversial in terms of its effectiveness, but we see that it works again and again. It is just generating traffic to new content.

Now there is a debate about whether traffic is a signal for ranking. There are a few old Google patents that talk about measuring traffic, and Google can certainly measure traffic using Chrome. They can see where these sites come from.

But, for example, Facebook advertising – you launch new content and attract a huge amount of traffic to it using Facebook advertising. You pay for the traffic, but in theory, Google can see this traffic because it measures it using the Chrome browser. When Google sees traffic going to a page, it can say:

“Hey, maybe this is the page we need to have in our index, and maybe we need to rank it correctly.” Nowadays there are some affordable SEO services for small businesses were there.

Ranging

As soon as we index the content, let’s talk about a few ideas that will allow us to rank it faster.

8. Generate search clicks

Along with generating traffic to the page, you can generate search clicks.

Now, what do I mean by this? So imagine that you are sharing a Twitter URL. Instead of sharing the URL directly, you’ll share Google search results. People click on the link, and you send them to Google search results that contain the keywords that you are trying to rank for, and people will search and click on your ad.

Generating search clicks instead of links directly to your URL is one of those advanced methods that some optimizers use.

9. Target request deserves freshness.

When you create new content, you can help it rank faster if you choose terms that Google thinks to deserve freshness. It is best if I give a couple of examples here.

Consider a user who is looking for “Open Cafe for Christmas 2020” This is a query for which Google wants to get a very fresh result. You want the latest news about cafes and restaurants that will be open on Christmas Day 2020. Google will prefer pages created very recently. Therefore, when you are targeting these requests, you can rank a little faster.

If you google it right now, you will probably find many very old Wikipedia pages. These results are not much updated, and it will be harder for you to hack those issues with newer content.

To find out, just enter the queries that you are trying to rank, and see how many years the most recent results. This will give you an idea of how fresh Google considers these requests. Choose requests that deserve a little more freshness, and you may be able to enter a little earlier.

10. Use URL structure

Finally, the last tip is what many sites do, and many sites don’t, because they just don’t know about it. Using URL structure. When Google sees a new URL (a new page for indexing), it does not yet have all the signals to rank it. But it has many algorithms that try to guess where the page should be ranked. In the past, Google has indicated that it uses a URL structure to define some of them.

If you have authoritative URLs (perhaps your blog), and you are using an existing URL structure, new content published using the same structure may have a slight advantage in the ranking, at least in the short term.

These are just a few ways to index your content faster and increase its rating. This is by no means an exhaustive list. There are many other ways.
